Samuel Ross, the founder of A-COLD-WALL*, has a collection on the way with Zara, which got us thinking.
Contemporary fashion used to sit between high-end luxury and high-street affordability, but we’ve seen a shift. Now, contemporary designers are increasingly collaborating with high-street retailers, creating elevated collections at accessible price points. This trend has given consumers a wealth of high-quality, stylish options without the need to overspend—reserving bigger investments for designer pieces that hold value over time. This explains the strong sales of brands like Miu Miu, Prada, and Bottega Veneta.
For instance, instead of buying a premium hoodie from A Cold Wall, you can get the same design sensibility from Samuel Ross, the creative director, at a fraction of the price through his line with Zara.
We expect to see more of these collaborations in 2025. Which designer would you like to see create a collection for your favorite high-street brand? #dresscodenation
